The full title for this album is Van Morrison - Duets: Reworking the Catalogue, and it's true to its word. Van picked out songs from his past and invited singers to join him in rethinking and retooling - often from scratch. Mavis Staples, Bobby Womack, Gregory Porter, Mark Knopfler, Steve Winwood and many more signed right up. Legacy Recordings sent me an interview with Van, which you'll hear, but I tried to squeeze in as much music as possible. He is a man with a golden voice after all.
