I've produced many hours of radio about Roy Orbison over the years, and I continue to be impressed with how good a man he was to everyone around him. Sometimes a true talent and gift can provide the confidence to be a better person. Or the other way around, but in any case he was a gem.
The highlight of this show for me revolved around an interview with his three sons, Wesley, Roy Jr. and Alex. They were open, honest and genuinely nice guys. The story they told about their father hearing about New Coke and buying a truck full of the original Coke was fantastic. Hey, he needed it to feel right in the throat, no problem.
