Sure, some of the greatest music directly addresses the issues of the times. Rock and rollers are not known for their shortage of opinions, and we certainly have a knack for listening to them. But what does it say about us when an album takes aim at the social, political and cultural issues of, say 1992, and when we look back at it 23 years later, those issues are still pertinent? Not only that, the scathing call-out of those problems seems like it could be written today? Well, at the very least, Roger Waters was quite ahead of his time when he put together Amused to Death. And so dryly funny, when you take the time.
